Calculadora online: cómo funciona
This is a standard calculator that evaluates the whole expression you type, not one button press at a time. It follows the usual order of operations: brackets first, then powers, then multiplication and division, then addition and subtraction. So 2 + 3 × 4 is 14, not 20.
The percent key works the way most handheld calculators do. Added to or subtracted from a number, it takes that percentage of the first number, so 200 + 10% is 220. On its own, 50% is 0.5. Everything runs in your browser; nothing you type is sent anywhere, and no history is stored.
Because the whole expression is evaluated at once, you can scroll back through what you typed and fix a mistake in the middle instead of starting over. That makes it handy for checking a bill, splitting costs, converting prices or adding a list of numbers where you want to see every term. For percentages of money, such as a tip or a mark-up, the percentage calculator explains the same arithmetic step by step.
Ejemplo resuelto
Order of operations and the percent key
- 2 + 3 × 4: multiplication first, 3 × 4 = 12, then 2 + 12 = 14.
- (2 + 3) × 4: the brackets are done first, 5 × 4 = 20.
- 200 + 10%: 10% of 200 is 20, so the answer is 220.
Resultado: 14, 20 and 220.
Limitaciones
- Numbers use standard double-precision floating point (about 15 significant digits). Results are rounded to 12 significant digits for display, which hides almost all tiny binary rounding errors (0.1 + 0.2 shows 0.3).
- Very large and very small numbers are shown in exponent form.
- There is no memory or history feature, by design.
- Division by zero and invalid expressions show an error rather than a number.
